First-Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref in a meeting with the Cuban Ambassador to Tehran Jose Ramiro Rodriguez here on Sunday called for consolidation of mutual ties.

At the meeting, Aref described bilateral relations as satisfactory and underlined continuation and consolidation of mutual ties mainly in the scientific, technical and bio-technology given the commonalties between the two countries.

Highlighting Cuba's status in Iran's foreign policy, he said the exchange of official-level visits and strengthening the joint-economic commission will be useful in upgrading Tehran-Havana relations.

The Cuban ambassador, for his part, referred to Iran's status in the region and underlined further consolidation and expansion of political, economic and scientific relations as well as following up the implementation of agreements signed between the two countries. MM/AH End ::irna 19:05
