The United
States this week refused to issue a transit visa for the Taiwanese
President in a bid to secure China's support for Washington's stances
towards Iran's nuclear issue, a former US State Department Official
in Chinese Affairs said.
According
to FNA correspondent from East Asia, John Casic added that following
the recent visit to the US by the Chinese President and the White
House Pressures on Beijing with regard to Iran's nuclear case, the
US administration has decided not to provide the Chinese officials
with any excuse to part with Iran.
US administration
this week denied the Taiwanese President an entry visa into the
US and just allowed him to pay a visit to Alaska. Consequently,
the Taiwanese President called off his visit to Latin America via
the Untied States and picked up the route from Dubai and Amsterdam
to Paraguay and Costa Rica instead.
