Councilor Chen Zhili met with Fidel Castro Diaz-Balart, scientific
adviser of the Cuban Council of State , on cooperation perspectives
between both countries.
The bilateral
programs in the field of education, science and technology foster
a favorable atmosphere for exploration, the Cuban scientist said.
Chen Zhili and
Castro Diaz-Balart analyzed several issues about which China and
Cuba have reached agreements and elaborated programs in training
experts and scouting new students and professionals.
The two states
have been long cooperating in those fields, and mainly in education,
biotechnology, new information technologies and telecommunications,
as well as explore in the field of nanosciences.
According to
the island's Council of State adviser, a political desire prevails
in both countries to support the development of new initiatives
in those spheres.
China respects
and appreciates what Cuba has done in some new sciences, and this
places the Asian nation in the role of science and innovation for
national development, Castro Diaz-Balart stated.
